Health Insurance Summit 2007, CII's flagship International Conference for the Indian Health Insurance Industry was held on 5 October 2007 in Mumbai. The Summit was a pioneering attempt to bring together opinions, views and ideas to the Health Insurance Industry, as it prepares to meet new challenges and imperatives. It brought together all the major stake holders in Health Insurance sector.

The Summit was addressed by international speakers and a galaxy of eminent professionals from the Indian Health Insurance Industry. Over 100 CMDs, MDs & CEOs along with 300 cross functional professionals from the Health Insurance industry participated at the Summit.

They shared their experiences and thoughts on specific areas of Health Insurance; and also defined areas and issues to be addressed for development of Health Insurance in the Country.

At the summit, CII and IRDA announced the formation of industry groups to address challenges faced by the Health Insurance sector. The terms of reference of each of the groups were defined and IRDA nominated its nominees to each of the groups. These groups had meetings across India and views of all group members were sought. Then Report was released by working groups in Dissemination Workshop, which was held on 9 May 2008 in Mumbai.
